Position Title: Sr. Business Process Analyst

Description: Responsible to lead teams through business process analysis, evaluation, and redesign for large and complex projects focused on transforming business processes in a decentralized environment, resulting in successful implementations that optimize efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance and support strategic goals.

Essential Duties
1. Identify opportunities for major strategic improvement of administrative services. Evaluate and develop the business case for change for large, complex, cross-functional and typically cross-organizational business processes.
2. Lead cross-functional teams in client-focused business process redesign process. This usually involves mapping business processes and using techniques such as activity-based costing, stakeholder focus groups, and opportunity analysis to identify high-leverage improvement targets.
3. Lead and guide teams through a structured process of creating a business model which reflects appropriate solutions to business needs. Keep participants and scope focused toward goals. This often includes working closely with IT and functional staff to develop detailed systems requirements.
4. Manage stakeholder expectations throughout the life of the business analysis phase of a project. This typically includes significant communication up to senior management, across to multiple functional owners, and down to staff involved in the effected business processes.
5. Work closely with assigned project manager to develop detailed plans for implementation including project organization, risk assessment, communication planning, development of performance metrics, and project entry criteria.
6. Stay involved in the implementation phase of a project to ensure that design, testing, training, and documentation objectives are met. Serve as a consultant to the project manager during project execution.
7. Assist in the evolution of the techniques to design and implement effective change initiatives
8. Serve as a strategic partner with all departments and schools to learn and understand existing processes and new requirements.
9. Act as an internal consultant to identify, define and communicate proposed enhancements to processes and tools.
10. Ensure that each proposed project works within the framework of Standard Business Analysis approach and tools.
11. Perform other special projects as assigned.

Education and Experience
1. BS/BA degree and eight to ten years of diverse business experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Education and Experience
1. Work experience in both for profit and non-profit environments. 2. Preferred: Master’s degree.

2. Proven ability to successfully plan, lead, and execute complex projects.
3. Superior communication skills including written, oral and presentation development and delivery.

5. Ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
6. Demonstrated ability to lead effectively in a highly matrixed environment.
7. Superior customer service orientation, self initiative, and ability to drive initiatives through to completion.
8. Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to changing priorities.
9. Strong computer skill set with a demonstrated ability to effectively employ industry-recognized software tools for professional project management and business analysis.
10. Exposure to complex mainframe applications (e.g. Oracle) in a large, complex organization.
