Posted Date: 9/24/2007 Job Category: Computing/MIS Position Title: Solutions Architect Salary Range: Location: Los Angeles-Long Beach, California, USA Desired Skills: Description: A fast-growing software and services organization and industry leader in the field of Data Aggregation is seeking a Solutions Architect to take a leadership role in providing high-quality data extraction and data integration services and products to a rapidly growing customer base. After completing a successful training period on the usage of the company’s leading-edge data extraction and integration tools, the candidate will work directly with senior Professional Services management and other senior technical staff during the start-up and/or production phases of customer projects. The successful candidate is expected to provide technical leadership, as well as solutions leadership for various projects. The candidate will play a key role in designing the business and technical processes needed to implement new customer projects and will have responsibility for their successful deployment and ongoing management. Depending on skill level and experience, the candidate will be assigned one to two or more projects, and candidate will be responsible for: • Managing customer expectations and communications • Documenting the business and technical aspects of each project, including business and technical specifications, weekly status reports, meeting summaries and more • Coordinating with customers and internal staff to establish project timeline and set processes around the people assigned to the project • Managing projects to ensure timely completion of all deliverables • Providing guidance for small, focused project teams • Providing mentoring / training to new members of project teams • Taking advantage of ongoing training opportunities provided by the company in order to continually increase skill level and expertise Finally, the successful candidate will be expected to identify and report challenges encountered on projects, and work creatively with senior technical staff and managers to design a successful solution. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Bachelor of Science in Computer Science 5 years having worked in a corporate environment with 2-3 years in a development role. Java is a plus Consulting background is a plus Working knowledge of programming languages, web technologies, SQL (MySQL, SQLServer and/or Oracle), and XML schema design Strong analytical skills, with ability to clearly document results of analysis, including options, tradeoffs, cost/benefits, etc. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, peers, and management Positive attitude with a “solutions” approach to a challenge and/or opportunity Oriented to providing high quality service to customers and have a strong understanding of the important elements of maintaining good customer relationships. Experience in managing one or more projects hands-on according to company priorities Ability to learn and assimilate new knowledge quickly. Dependable, meticulous, detail-oriented, self-starter, team player.
