Position Overview
The Application Certification Leader is a strategic and advancing position. The
successful candidate will design the testing strategy including process, team
and tools, develop test plans, work with functional & IT users to develop
the system, user acceptance & performance test cases, drive development of
regression scripts & execution of the test cases, and report out testing
status on a regular basis to senior management. The Application Certification
position will interface with the Design Architects, Users, IT team and the QA
vendor/team. The QA Lead will establish a relationship with the corporate
Testing COE and look to implement best practices from this organization. The
individual will have complete ownership of wing-to-wing testing activities to
ensure on time & high quality delivery. The ideal applicant will have
relevant experience in leading testing activities around complex financial
software/applications, using QA tools like Mercury quality center, QTP, Load
runner, win runner etc.
Responsibilities:
1. Establish a company-wide testing COE across all application families and
programs
2. Build and lead QA team and provide guidance and mentoring to build a high
performance team
3. Work with design architects/business analysts/SMEs to learn the business
processes and key testing requirements
4. Work with IT and business users to document test cases and test data
5. Create detailed test cases to effectively test the system functionality and
business process
6. Test and certify applications before going to UAT phase
7. Test and certify applications before going to production
8. Develop performance testing strategy and plan and execute
9. Provide support to users during UAT phase
10. Partner with Corporate Testing COE team to adhere to standard QA tools and
processes
11. Ensure compliance to documented IT and Controllership standards
Qualifications/Requirements
1. 5–7 years over all experience in QA activities; 2-3 years in a Lead role in
testing large, complex financial applications
2. Strong business acumen (preferably in the capital markets arena - Debt,
Derivatives, Foreign Exchange is a plus)
3. Hands-on experience with QA tools – Mercury QC, QTP, Load Runner, Win Runner
etc.
4. Solid understanding of IT systems, processes, tools and technologies
5. Clear thinker with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication
skills
6. Detail oriented with strong organizational skills, ability to multitask and
work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
7. Excellent understanding of SDLC methodology
8. Experience in a large systems implementation project is a plus
9. Solid SQL skills, preferably Oracle PL/SQL
